For Public Libraries

A quiet companion for your library users.

Free, private, no account needed. Leaf helps your library users stay on top of their return dates and build a daily reading habit. Nothing to set up, nothing to manage on your end.

Free for every library user, No account, no data collection, Speaks your readers' language

Free for every library user

No subscription, no sign-up. The reading-tracking features stay free.

No account, no data collection

Everything stays on the reader's device. We can't see it.

Speaks your readers' language

Available in 16 languages, matched to the phone settings.

For your library users

Fewer books returned half-read.

Readers borrow with good intentions and run out of time. Leaf turns the return date into a daily reading pace they can actually keep. Seventeen pages today. Twenty-two tomorrow if they missed a day. The math stays honest. The book gets finished.

Reader picks Finish by return date and Leaf shows 22 pages per day to finish by May 30

For your circulation

A reader who finishes one borrowed book comes back for another.

Leaf builds a daily reading habit through quiet streaks and milestones. A reader on a thirty-day streak is a reader who visits your library every month. The habit forms quietly, without leaderboards or nudges that make reading feel like a task.

For your principles

Reader privacy is a library value. It's also a Leaf value.

Everything a reader reads stays on their phone. No account, no profile, no third-party analytics on reading data. Cloud sync is available for those who want their library across devices, but it is entirely opt-in.

Who builds Leaf

A solo studio. No venture capital, no growth team, no plans to sell your library users' data.

Leaf is built by No Bad Seed Studio, a one-person studio. It survives on a small optional subscription for cloud sync. That model lets us keep the reading-tracking features free and the data on the device, where it belongs.

Frequently asked questions

Is Leaf really free for our library users?

Yes. Reading tracking, streaks, goals, statistics, and the borrowed-books feature are all free with no subscription. Leaf Pro adds optional cloud sync across devices, but library users don't need it.

What data does Leaf collect from our library users?

None about their reading. All books, progress, streaks, and goals stay on the device. The only data collected is anonymous usage analytics (sessions, screens viewed), and the user can opt out of that too. No reading profiles, no contact lists, no third-party trackers.

Do we need to register or sign a partnership?

No. There is no library license, no partnership, no form. Library users download Leaf from the App Store or Google Play like any other app. Recommending it is something staff can do at the desk or in a newsletter.

Is Leaf available in languages other than English?

Yes. Leaf ships in 16 languages including English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Italian, Polish, Russian, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Turkish. The app uses the phone's language automatically.
