Library Borrower

Track Library Books and Never Miss a Return Date

When you borrow a book from a library, you are reading against a deadline. Most readers either rush through the last hundred pages the night before the due date, or return the book half-finished. Leaf solves this by turning your return date into a reading plan. Add the book, set the date it is due back, and Leaf tells you exactly how many pages to read each day. Free on iOS and Android.

Free for library users

Add a borrowed book, set the return date, and Leaf handles the rest.

Add a library book and set your return date

Open Leaf, search for the book you borrowed, and add it to your library. Switch to deadline mode and set the return date. Leaf uses the book's page count and the number of days remaining to calculate your daily reading target automatically. If the library gives you three weeks to read a 350-page novel, Leaf tells you seventeen pages a day is enough. Clear, automatic, and always current.

Leaf recalculates if you fall behind

Life does not pause because a library book is due. If you miss two days, Leaf recalculates the remaining pages across the remaining days. Your daily target adjusts upward to account for the gap. If you read ahead on the weekend, it adjusts downward. The math is always based on where you are now, not where you were supposed to be. You never need to do the arithmetic yourself.

Track multiple borrowed books at once

Most library readers have more than one borrowed book at a time: the novel from the fiction section, the cookbook they reserved, the biography the librarian recommended. Leaf handles all of them in the same library. Each book has its own return date and its own daily target. Your home screen shows all your active books, color-coded so you can see at a glance which ones are on track and which are slipping.

Borrowed books and owned books in the same library

You do not need a separate app for borrowed books and another for your personal reading. Leaf treats all books the same way. A library book with a deadline sits alongside the novel you bought last month and are reading at your own pace. Switch between modes anytime: deadline mode for borrowed books, flexible page goal mode for personal reading. One app, one library, one place to track everything.

Works for public libraries, school libraries, and universities

The library borrower feature works whether you use a public library, a school library, a university library, or borrow books from a friend. Leaf does not connect to any library system and does not require a library card. You simply add the book and the return date. Everything else is your personal reading data, stored locally on your device.

When you renew, update the date in five seconds

Many libraries let you renew a loan if no one else has reserved the book. When that happens, open Leaf, tap the book, and extend the deadline. Leaf recalculates the daily target based on the new date and the pages you still have left. If you are halfway through and renew for another two weeks, your required daily pace usually drops significantly.

No account, no sign-up, works offline in the library

Library users often read in spaces where Wi-Fi is limited. Leaf requires no internet connection to log reading, view your progress, or check your daily target. All data is stored locally on your device. No account is required. Download the app and start tracking the same day you pick up your next library book.

Frequently asked questions

Can I track books I borrowed from a public library?

Yes. Add the book to Leaf, choose deadline mode, and enter the library's return date as your finish date. Leaf calculates how many pages you need to read each day to finish before it's due.

How do I set a library book's return date in Leaf?

When you add a book, choose "Deadline" as your reading mode and enter the date the book is due back. Leaf uses the return date and the remaining page count to calculate your daily reading target automatically.

Does Leaf show me when my library book is overdue?

Leaf shows your daily reading target on the home screen for each active book, color-coded green when you are on track and orange when you are falling behind. Checking the app is all you need to stay aware of your return deadline.

What if I renew my library book?

Open the book in Leaf, edit the deadline, and enter the new return date. Leaf immediately recalculates your daily target based on the new date and the pages you have left.

Can I track borrowed books and books I own in the same app?

Yes. Leaf puts all your books in one library regardless of where they came from. Borrowed books use deadline mode with the return date, and personal books can use either deadline or flexible page goal mode.

Is Leaf free for library users?

Yes. The full app is free, including the library borrower feature. No subscription is required to set deadlines or track borrowed books. Leaf Pro adds optional cloud sync across devices.
